How has AARP Ride@50+ Program service changed due to COVID-19?
At AARP, our top priority is the health and well-being of staff, volunteers, members, and the community at large. As such, rides can be booked through the AARP Ride@50+ Program for essential trips only at this time, meaning trips as needed to maintain your health and safety, including medical appointments or trips to the grocery store or pharmacy. Essential trips do not include social visits, rides to restaurants or retail, or employment or job interviews at this time.
Prior to booking a ride, you will be asked to consent to a disclaimer provided by the AARP Ride@50+ Program confirming that you understand and acknowledge the inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in the receipt of transportation services made available through the AARP Ride@50+ Program. The AARP Ride@50+ Program requires that all passengers follow all applicable future and current COVID-19 laws (including local county orders), regulations, safety recommendations and guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, such as the wearing of a face covering.
